Does the end justify the means? Or will you imprison somebody for illegally exposing somebody else's illegal ways?

This is a question that has been discussed for quite some time right now after the story of VP candidate Sandra Palin's email being hacked came out. It turned out Palin had been discussing about official matters in a private email! Now which side will you take?
